150 Celebration

Sunday | 09.27.26
9:15 & 1050 AM Worship Services

Join us on Sunday, September 27, as we celebrate 150 years of God’s faithfulness at GFBC! For a century and a half, our church family has stood as a beacon of hope, worship, service, and community. This special anniversary service will honor our rich history, celebrate the lives transformed through ministry, and look forward with faith to the future God has prepared.

If you do not have a church home, please be our special guest! We extend a heartfelt invitation to former ministers, staff members, and church leaders who have faithfully served GFBC through the years. Your dedication, leadership, and love have helped shape the legacy we celebrate today, and we would be honored to welcome you back for this milestone occasion.

It always has been, always is, and
always will be about Jesus.

For 150 years, God has been faithful to use the people of Gardendale First Baptist Church to proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and serve our community. This book tells the story of His faithfulness across generations of ordinary people in steady obedience to a Savior who has never changed.

Building on Maurene Guffin's centennial history, A Church Triumphant, this volume offers a brief summary of the church's first hundred years before turning its full attention to the four pastoral eras that have followed: the ministries of Lewis Marler, David Dykes, Steve Gaines, and Kevin Hamm.

As we look back with gratitude, we also look ahead with expectancy, trusting that the same God who has led us this far will continue to guide us still.

Preorders for the Book will begin Sunday, June 7, in the Worship Lobby for $20.

 Core Value Nights

As we prepare to celebrate 150 years of God’s faithfulness at GFBC, join us on Wednesday nights for a special series centered on our four core values. Each week, we’ll reflect on the mission, beliefs, and biblical foundation that have shaped our church through generations and continue to guide us into the future. Together, we’ll celebrate our heritage, strengthen our faith, and renew our commitment to living out these values as one church family. We hope you’ll join us for these meaningful evenings leading up to our 150th Celebration!

Revival Nights

As we conclude our 150th Anniversary Celebration, join us for three special nights of revival September 28–30. These evenings will be a time of passionate worship, powerful preaching, prayer, and spiritual renewal as we reflect on God’s faithfulness through the years and seek His direction for the future. We believe God is not finished with GFBC yet, and we invite our church family and community to come expectant for what He will do during these unforgettable nights of revival.
