Our student ministry’s goal this year is to encourage students to spend one week on mission. That is 168 hours of the entire year spent serving. Whether that is a mission trip through our student ministry or church, serving in the community or serving locally at our church, we want you to serve “here, there and everywhere.”

There are plenty of ways to serve at our church through VBS, nursery, serving at banquets, outreach ministry, Operation Christmas Child and more. THERE (Community)
It is just as important to share the love of Jesus in our church and across the world, but what about right across the street? What about at your school? Maybe your elderly neighbor needs their grass cut or the single mom down the street needs a free babysitter. We want you to intentionally love on this city.
EVERYWHERE (Mission trips)
Our student ministry will be taking multiple mission trips this year. A $100 deposit is due on November 19th (excluding Jackson, TN)
JACKSON, TN | MAY 1-3
Our girls ministry (grades 6th-12th) will be taking a mission trip to Jackson, Tennessee. We will be partnering with Englewood Baptist Church to serve and love the city of Jackson. We will be ministering to mothers and their children through Englewood’s outreach ministry, “Mission Jackson”.

GUATEMALA - EL TEJAR | MARCH 21-28
For Spring Break, we will be taking a group of 6th-12th graders to El Tejar in Guatemala to partner with Grace Ministries. We will be spending a lot of time building houses, doing construction and partnering with food banks.

LOS ANGELES, CA | MARCH 21-28
For Spring Break, we will be taking a group of 6th-12th graders to Los Angeles, California to partner with The Abiding Church. This trip will be full of prayer and evangelism, moments to serve and love the city, and to encourage this local church body in LA.

JINJA, UGANDA | MAY 22-30
This trip will primarily be a medical trip, as we are partnering with Hatika. We will participate in many medical clinics; however, we will also be doing lots of children activities such as sports, games, and various other things for the children in the area. We will only take 10 students on this trip.

GUATEMALA - HOPE OF LIFE | JULY 11-18
We will be partnering with Hope of Life to build wells, package and distribute food bags, have VBS with children and visit villages sponsored by our church. THIS TRIP IS NOT THROUGH OUR STUDENT MINISTRY, BUT WE WILL HAVE MANY STUDENTS WHO ATTEND THE TRIP.

TAKE THE TOWEL
Students will receive a towel at the beginning of the fall semester at MDWK. This towel is meant to travel with you wherever you are serving. At the end of the year, your towel should be dirty.
INK + IRON
Ink and Iron is a pop-up shop from students for students to help raise money for any church mission trip, camp or retreat. We will open the shop the first Wednesday night of every month at the south campus. Reach out to any student team member to be a part of the next Ink + Iron.
